This summer, the middle school students are going to have Bible studies that will meet on Wednesday nights. These studies will meet for 7 weeks beginning Wednesday, June 16th from 6:30-8:00 PM. The Light House will be open at 6:00 PM to hang out and students can buy dinner for $2.
I am very excited about these studies. It is my prayer that God will use these studies to give our middle school students a deeper understanding of who God is and how God wants them to live.
Please note: We will not meet the week of Middle School Camp (June 30).
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Students will be able to choose the study he or she would like to attend from the following:
THE EXCHANGE (A CO-ED STUDY)
WHO: Guys or girls who have completed 5th-8th grade.
This study of Romans 6, 7, and 8 will help our middle school students to understand their unique identity in Christ and exchange their lives for the life of Christ.
The Exchange addresses new believers along with those who were “raised” in church inviting them to live an exchanged life. Embracing the truth that God never meant for anyone to live the Christian life on their own, this study sheds light on life lived through the power of Christ in them.
This class is open to all middle school students. We will meet in the Fireside Room. Please contact Jon Carr at email@example.com if your student is interested in attending.
MY HEART BELONGS TO HIM (A MOTHER/DAUGHTER STUDY)
WHO: Girls who have completed 6th-8th grade
Girls: Who will your heart belong to? Your peers are tugging on your heart-to influence your beliefs about who you are and what you stand for. Can you feel the pull to look a certain way, to act a certain way, or to hang around certain people in order to fit in or belong? God Himself is also tugging on your heart. He’s calling you to be different, to rise above society’s standards and to make a difference in your world. He’s calling you to courageous womanhood!
Moms: Who will own and shape your daughter’s heart? Society tugs on your daughter’s heart to influence her beliefs about who she is and what she stands for. God is also tugging on your daughter’s heart, beckoning her toward courageous womanhood! She needs courage to become all that He created her to be–physically, mentally, emotionally, and especially spiritually.
“My Heart Belongs to Him” is a unique discipleship study for mothers and daughters that is fun, practical, and easy to use!
In this study for middle school girls and their moms (or other influential female in a girl’s life), there are eight interactive sessions, plus additional tips to make your time memorable and effective.
Explore topics like:
- Radiating True Beauty
- Communication/Conflict Resolution
- Choosing Friends Wisely
- Peer Pressure (Includes Clothing Choices)
- Entertainment Choices/Managing Time Wisely
- Guarding Moral Purity
There is a Mother’s Guide for moms and a Daughter’s Guide for girls ($13 for the pair). Please contact Jon Carr at firstname.lastname@example.org or Lisa Nesbit at LRNesbit@charter.net if you and your daughter are interested in attending. We will meet in Room A215.
BECOMING A MAN (A FATHER/SON STUDY)
WHO: Guys who have completed 6th-8th Grade
Becoming a Man is an 8 week study tailored for fathers as they help their sons develop a realistic, God-centered view of manhood.
Participants — which includes both fathers and sons — will learn about the 4 faces of manhood and delve into the book of Genesis as they examine the biblical definition of manhood.
Men’s Fraternity founder Robert Lewis explores manhood as defined by God through DVD-driven teaching. Small-group stories coupled with discussion enable sons to talk openly with their fathers about the issues they face while dads are encouraged to be spiritual leaders of their sons.
